Polaroid Is Dead…Long Live Polaroid

Polaroid recently announced that it is stopping production of its prized cameras and white-bordered film.
CNN’s iReport is asking for Polaroid stories from viewers.
I, for one, will miss Polaroid photos. Most of the photos of my childhood were taken with Polaroid cameras and film: some peel-apart film, some of the white-bordered instant kind.
Polaroid is dead. Long live Polaroid.

This makes me really sad. For one, polaroids are just cool! Yeah, the photos fade fast and aren’t as instant as digital, but so what? You can make neat photo transfers with them and do all kinds of weird things you can’t do with other film cameras.
I wonder if they’ll keep making the film for the people who still have the cameras? Probably not…

I have an iZone camera. I love the thing. i have done a couple of really cool projects with the postage size film.
When polaroid stopped making them, the film stopped being made as well, so it isn’t very hopeful.
Maybe they will start making poloroid looking printer paper.
