Chipotle in Des Moines (Finally!)

The Des Moines Register is reporting that Chipotle will open its first Des Moines-area Chipotle location May 30, at the Valley West Mall in West Des Moines.
Considering Chipotle gets their pork from Niman Ranch in Iowa, I’m surprised they haven’t come sooner.

The Feve, Oberlin

The Feve, Oberlin

Back in February, I attended an Exposure Cleveland brunch/photowalk in and around Oberlin College. A few of us ate at The Feve, which I looked forward to, since I hadn’t been there in at least 10 years.
Boy, was it delicious.
I had Fish Tacos for the first time, and I swear, I thought I saw God. [...]

Mr. Fish: For God’s Sake, Save The Purple Parma

I know I’ve been on a Melt-related posting bender over the last few days, but this article was too good to pass up.
There is a group of people that are petitioning Melt Bar and Grilled owner/chef Matt Fish to put the Purple Parma, which features breaded/fried eggplant, permanently on the menu. They even circulated a [...]

I’m a Big Cheese Now

I went to Melt (again!) this morning, to check out their Sunday Brunch menu.
I had the Wake & Bacon, which is essentially an omelette in sandwich form: 2 fried eggs, crisp bacon, and american cheese, between two huge pieces of toasted bread. I ate most of it, but had to take a good 1/3 [...]

Parmageddon It

Photo: The Parmageddon. Potato & cheese pierogies, grilled onions, and slabs of cheddar sandwiched between two huge slices of bread. Sinfully delicious.
This morning, I paid Melt Bar And Grilled a visit, as part of an article I’m writing for the Lakewood Observer. You can view the article here (Melt, Observed) or download the Lakewood [...]

Pizza: A Slice of Americana

Pizza: A Slice of Americana

With the hubbub over Papa John’s, this has me thinking about how pizza is such an important part of the American food landscape.
Myself, and pretty much everyone I knew, grew up loving pizza. It’s a staple of American food. If you ask a child what his or her favorite food is, pizza will be at [...]

Papa John’s Comes Clean

Papa John’s Comes Clean

Fox 8 and the Plain Dealer are reporting that Papa John’s has issued a formal apology for the ‘Crybaby’ t-shirt mess.
“At Papa John’s, we’re huge fans of Cleveland, the Cavs and LeBron James. Everyone wins, and we wish the same for the Cavs and LeBron through the playoffs.”

They are donating $10,000 to the Cavaliers Youth [...]

Apology From Papa John’s?

So Good reports that a recent blog comment suggests that the DC franchisee of PJ’s was responsible for the ‘Crybaby’ t-shirts. It looks like it’s on PJ’s corporate radar as well…
