Cleveland has an incredible gem in Ray’s Indoor Mountain Bike Park. It’s exactly what it sounds like, and indoor Mountain Biking park that was built by Ray, the staff and their indoor pro riding buddies. It’s for Mountain and BMX bikes, but no worries, if you don’t have either you can easily rent some Trek bikes (they have new 2013 ones in to demo too!). As you can see from the photo above, it has a great “picnic” area with gas fireplaces and TV’s for the parents to hang out while the kids enjoy the park. They have everything from the beginner’s Novice area (that would be where you would find me!) to the Expert area (that would NOT be where you would find me!). They also often have special events including visits by Pro’s. This weekend (Feb 15-17) is Women’s Weekend which is hosted by Pro Leigh Donovan (1995 World Mountain Bike Champion, 2001 World Cup Mountain Bike Champion, 9X U.S. National Mountain Bike Champion). Free entry and clinics Today (Friday) from 9am-4pm and half price for women Saturday & Sunday (16-17th).
