A blog about food, wine, photography, travel, tech, pop culture, and social media...with a little geek thrown in for flavor.

I love to cook, collect and try new recipes. I'm always in search of the perfect meal, the perfect glass of wine, the perfect cup of coffee. Some people eat to live...but I live to eat.

The digital revolution appears to change all this. By replacing physical atoms with digital bits, the Internet undermines the monopoly of these cultural gatekeepers. The Internet’s digital platform enables the creation and storage of infinite content. Whereas the physical printing press limited the publication of books, so the web enables anyone to digitally publish anything they like. The market’s supply of culture, therefore, metamorphosizes from scarcity into cornucopia.

I have to say, I believe the internet won’t totally democratize media; the current gatekeepers aren’t powerful -or corrupt - enough to re-create what happened in the “print media.”

I should catch up my history of print, and compare that to the current events of digital media - I think we’ll find history will repeat itself.
