Bands touring Philly: BE CAREFUL!
The other night my good friends in Kill Hannah got their van and trailer stolen out of their hotel parking lot in Philly. In the van was all of their gear, merch, and personal belongings. Now, stuff like this happens, and it’s totally devastating to the bands it happens to, but this situation is a little different… Last week, AT THE SAME HOTEL, the band Mae also had their van and trailer stolen. And apparently there have been numerous cases of stolen vans and trailers in the Philadelphia area, specifically at this particular hotel, in the past year. The hotel is the Holiday Inn on the 900 block of Packer Ave near the stadium. The band suspects that the Holiday Inn employees may be involved, as they were extremely unhelpful and uncooperative when the band reported their loss.
Any bands touring Philadelphia at the moment should be extremely careful and keep an eye on their vans and trailers. There is clearly a crime ring involved in stealing bands’ gear in the area! God forbid this happens to anyone else… :(
