A blog about food, wine, photography, travel, tech, pop culture, and social media...with a little geek thrown in for flavor.

I love to cook, collect and try new recipes. I'm always in search of the perfect meal, the perfect glass of wine, the perfect cup of coffee. Some people eat to live...but I live to eat.

You can let the past have power over you. You can let people from your past still hold the power they used to have over you even though they are long gone from  your life.
You have the power to let it all go. You have the power to move on, to be who you wanted to be before you became someone who let everything hold them down. You have the power to live through it all. You have the power to push forward instead of looking back.
You have the power to be, to exist outside of the things that kept you from feeling like you were not existing at all. You have the power to take positive things from your experiences instead of leaning on those experiences as crutches that keep you from walking.
The power any person or memory has over you is only as strong as you let it be. Giving it thought, giving it a physical places in your emotional life, letting it take up space in your heart or your brain or your soul is to give it even more power.
You can let words have power over you. You can let those who think less of you than they ought to have the power to make you feel small and meaningless, or you can recognize that their words only make you feel that way because you let them. Power down. Turn them off.
You have the power to move, to run, to climb and push through. You have the power to keep the demons at bay, to make them shrink back from you when they realize you will not let them hurt you anymore.
You can be. You can do. You can win. It’s all a matter of giving power to the right things and cutting off the power to anything that’s been taking up negative space in your head.
Power up.
